My name is Madelyn Godfroy and I am passionate about all things art and design. I’m a second-year student at Loyola University Chicago studying Visual Communication & Advertising.
Here, I have been learning how to use design principles to help brands and storytellers connect more effectively with their audience, whether through editorial content, web design, packaging design, or brand identity formation.
I am familiar with software tools in the Adobe suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro. I’m comfortable shooting photo and video with a camera and adjusting the camera settings and external lighting for a proper exposure. Currently, I’m a part of Rambler Productions, a student-run video and audio production group at the School of Communication.
In my free time, I like to rollerblade, explore new bookstores and restaurants, paint, and watch movies. I also love to read — anything from novels to magazines to the back of the cereal box.
I’m from Massachusetts, and I was drawn to Chicago because it reminds me of Boston. I love the architecture, the waterfront, and even the cold weather!
I am excited to continue learning and building my skills in communication design in my classes and in projects outside of class.
